Hello, I’m Nisa Kay!

If you’re looking to lose weight, eat healthier, and get fit, then you’re in the right place. Keep reading—I promise this won’t be your usual “here’s how I became a fitness guru” kind of post. I’m in this journey right alongside you!

Like most of us, I’m tired of the weight fluctuations. One minute I’m feeling great, the next I’m back to square one. I’ve tried every diet under the sun—apps, Pinterest ideas, YouTube videos—but let’s be honest, I haven’t paid for any fancy diet programs (shout-out to free online content!). In 2024, I started the year at 190 lbs and, by July, I hit 150 lbs. That’s right—after years of starting over in January, I finally hit my goal weight, something I hadn’t seen since I was 25. Now, at 33, I’m here to tell you: losing weight gets a lot harder as you get… wiser. Yes, wiser.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing at first. I started off by walking 10K steps a day and eating 1,300 calories a day, using the Lose It app. I love the app, but my Achilles’ heel is remembering to log my food. I’d start off super motivated, then slowly start entering only one or two days of my meals before eventually quitting entirely. Sound familiar?

I knew I needed to do more than just walk. At first, increasing my steps helped me lose the first 10-15 lbs, but then I hit a wall. So, I decided to up the ante and add 1-2 miles of jogging a day. That helped me shed a couple more pounds, and I was excited to see the scale move again. But, spoiler alert: the rut came back. During this time, I was eating well during the week, but the weekends were my downfall. That inconsistency was a major problem, so I knew I had to get organized with a proper meal plan.

That’s when I stumbled upon the Boiled Egg Diet. Yes, the boiled egg diet. It sounded simple and… let’s be real, I love eggs. But if you don’t, do yourself a favor and skip this one. You’ve got to really love eggs. I stuck with it for 14 days (no alcohol, either!) and was shocked by the results—I lost 10 lbs. In just two weeks. By then, I was around 165 lbs, but summer vacation was just around the corner, and I still had more weight to lose. Enter the carnivore diet.

Now, I’m no diet expert, but I do love meat and eggs. The simplicity of the carnivore diet was incredibly appealing—meat is easy to source, it’s affordable, and it works. I managed to lose 15 lbs in just over a month. I was feeling great, until… well, the holidays came around. Cue the excuses—but hey, we all deserve a little indulgence, right? Still, I’m ready to hop back on the wagon and get back to my health goals.

This time around, I’m taking a more structured approach with a detailed workout calendar and a low-carb meal plan. Here’s to consistency, focus, and maybe a few slip-ups along the way (because who’s perfect?). I’m not just doing this for me—I want to help others on this journey by sharing the ups, the downs, and everything in between.

Let’s do this!
